Job Description:
Reporting to the Associate Dean within College of Human
Development, Culture, and Media's (CHDCM) Office of Student
Success, the Director will develop, implement, and monitor
multi-level initiatives to support undergraduate and graduate
student success. The Director, aligned with College and University
strategic priorities, will identify and incorporate evidence-based
strategies—for example, co-curricular programs and services,
data-informed intervention systems, and faculty development and
training—to increase student engagement, retention, and success.
Key roles will include collaborating with College faculty,
administrators, and staff and engaging with campus partners to
further success initiatives and foster a student-centered culture
of excellence. Duties and Responsibilities: *Student Success
Strategy and Leadership - Develops, implements, and monitors

and graduate student success along the stages of academic study,

support success for all students while also identifying and
tailoring strategies for at-promise student populations. Utilizes
technology to streamline and innovate student success operations.

and University priorities and student success initiatives. Reports
to the Associate Dean, data, processes, and outcomes to inform
strategic planning and annual assessments. *Student Advising,
Support, and Referral Infrastructure - Conceptualizes and
implements a unified College-wide advisement infrastructure in
tandem with the College's Academic Departments and campus partners.
Designs, implements, and leads trainings and workshops, as well as
identifies and creates resources, for students and faculty. Serves
as the lead academic interventionist to mitigate academic issues
and to assist students and advisors to develop concrete remediation
plans for academic success. This position does not maintain an
advising caseload, but rather serves as the central
point-of-contact for ad-hoc, escalated student concerns
supplemental to Academic Departments. *Student Engagement - Aligned
with strategic priorities, develops and implements initiatives that
cultivate engagement within the College, including, but not limited
to, orientation programs, networking opportunities, and
student-centered initiatives that support belonging, retention, and
academic progress. Establishes and maintains a cooperative and
collaborative working relationship with the University community,
faculty, and administrators. *Cross-Campus Collaboration,
Communication, and Engagement - Serves as the primary liaison
between the College and University-wide student success, advising,
enrollment, and student services departments. About the College of
Human Development, Culture, and Media: Launched in Summer 2023,
Seton Hall’s College of Human Development, Culture, and Media
(CHDCM) embodies the University’s commitment to pedagogical
innovation, intellectual ferment, and community engagement. Uniting
scholars and students from four dynamic departments —
Communication, Media, and the Arts; Education Leadership,
Management, and Policy; Educational Studies; and Professional
Psychology and Family Therapy — the College is the new home of
cutting-edge, transdisciplinary inquiry into the stickiest problems
of our time. The faculty, staff, and students of the College seek
to improve the human condition by collaborating across distinct
fields that uniquely complement one another—the arts,
communication, education, leadership and mental health. Expression
underpins all facets of the College’s portfolio — media as a form
of education and artistic expression; teaching and learning as
modes of creative expression; expression and expressibility as
critical to counseling and therapeutic treatment; and
self-expression as a vehicle of social agency. With enrollment at
approximately 1,550 total students, both graduate and
undergraduate, CHDCM is the second largest college at Seton Hall
University, with approximately 70 full time faculty and 125 adjunct
faculty. For more information about the College of Human
