Job Description:
Job SummaryA Principal Designer is a recognized industrial
expert who seamlessly integrates creativity, innovation, and
presentation skills to provide best in class support to IFF
clients. They provide or enable innovative solutions to customers
individually or through leading regional/global teams to
commercialization. The Principal Designer understands and
translates category innovation needs into successful products. They
are a strong contributor to strategic initiatives and commercial
relationships, both internally and externally influencing sales
growth. The Principal Designer acts as a mentor and recognized
trainer for Designers.Job Responsibilities:Project Management
- Proven time management and strong project management
skills.
- Industry expert in recipe ingredients/raw materials and their
functions.
- Independently navigates projects from start to finish and acts
as a project leader in teams.
- Provide technical guidance on unusual or complex problems.
- Develops finished product formulations incorporating IFF
technologies and meeting industrial standards, country specific and
client requirements (profile, legal, cost and stability
requirements).
- Demonstrates consistent significant commercial success year
after year.
- Justifies, builds, and leads appropriate resource or expertise
in project teams.Innovation & Technology
- Recognized and established technical expert in the industry, on
a global level, within the company and by key category customers,
academia, and industry groups.
- Proven track record of successful execution of global customer
projects.
- Creates and executes training programs for technical and
commercial staff.
- Proactive in using new ingredients, advancing technology, and
utilizing IFF technology.
- Leads local and regional C&D and Category Growth
Initiatives.
- May act as local Innovation subject matter expert.
- Expert in ingredient functionality and flavor performance in
different finished products and incorporates technology
appropriately.Customer Intimacy & Technical Partnership
- Strong understanding, communication, and contribution to IFF
business strategy at a local, regional, and global level.
- Understands and communicates customer business strategy,
brands, consumer preference and market trends.
- Visits customers and presents technical information and taste
design concepts.
- Develops strong relationships with aligned customers and
related categories.
- Strong creativity, innovation, and presentation skills.
- Known industry expert with strategic customers and related
categories.Leadership
- Shows positive attitude and passion.
- Demonstrates ability to lead a cross-functional team.
- Inspires and build confidence in others to achieve

roles within the function or region.Job Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 15 years working experience in industrial
food, ingredient, or flavor industry plus a minimum 5-10 years in
the specific field of expertise.5+ years' experience as leader in
interdepartmental cross-functional team roles
- Education: Minimum entry level is a University/College Degree
in Food Science and Technology or related disciplines (such as
Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Biology), Preferred Master's Degree
and/or PhD in related area
- Travel: Travel may be required up to 20% of the time.
- Workplace: This position is considered an Anchor and requires
working in the lab/pilot plant for 5 days/week.We are a global
