As a Middle School ELA Teacher’s Assistant at Mott Hall Bridges Academy , you’ll play a vital role in supporting Grades 6–8 classrooms through consistent, in-class academic support. This role focuses on push-in classroom support during ELA instruction , helping students strengthen reading comprehension, writing skills, vocabulary development, and overall literacy confidence throughout the school day. What You’ll Do As a Simply Ed Middle School ELA Teacher’s Assistant, you will: Provide push-in classroom support during ELA instruction. Support teachers in delivering engaging, standards-aligned literacy lessons. Offer one-on-one and small group academic support to students. Reinforce reading comprehension strategies, writing development, and vocabulary skills. Help manage classroom routines and foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment. Assist with organizing materials and preparing instructional resources. Monitor student progress and share observations with teachers and staff. Collaborate with educators to meet student learning needs. Attend required training sessions and staff meetings. Who We’re Looking For We’re seeking individuals who are: Passionate about supporting middle school students’ academic growth in ELA. Reliable, professional, and committed to showing up every day. Strong communicators and collaborative team players. Experienced with children (formally or informally) — school experience preferred, but training is provided. Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field. Able to adapt to different learning environments and student needs. Cleared (or eligible for clearance) through DOE PETS background check and fingerprinting. Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus. What You Gain Competitive pay of $26/hour .
