Job Description:
Seton Hall University’s Department of Mathematics and Computer
Science and the School of Diplomacy and International Relations
invite applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position
in cybersecurity and policy to commence in the 2026-2027 academic
year. The position will be a joint appointment housed in the
College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Mathematics and
Computer Science, and with undergraduate and graduate teaching
responsibilities each year for Computer Science (3 courses/9
credits) and Diplomacy and International Relations (3 courses/9
credits). Duties and Responsibilities: Candidates must be qualified
to teach courses in the fields of 1) computer science related to
cybersecurity, 2) government policy related to cyber security,
information security, and cyber warfare, and 3) modern statistical
research methods/data analysis. We are particularly interested in
candidates who can contribute to our degree programs in
cybersecurity and international and homeland security and help
launch our new curriculum in security and conflict analysis.
Required Qualifications: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in hand by
the time of their appointment, either in 1) computer science,
computer engineering, or cybersecurity, accompanied by academic
training in public policy or extensive policy experience; or 2)
political science or a related discipline accompanied by academic
computer science training or extensive technical experience.
Successful applicants will demonstrate the potential to teach
effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Additionally, all applicants should have strong research
backgrounds or demonstrate substantial potential for conducting
important academic research in their field of specialization.
Salary Range: $98,625-$109,583 Exempt/Nonexempt: Exempt Physical
