Position Overview: The School Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing direct school nursing services in an effort to promote prevention, medical management and academics. Looking for a 1:1 private duty, per diem nurse to potentially do fill ins and call outs. Pay and benefits: Starting at $35 an hour In-house trainings provided by Aveanna Clinicians: Trach/Vent, Adult to Peds, etc. Full-time, Part-time, Per Diem work available Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, Sick Leave, Tuition Reimbursement, Employee Stock Purchase Program Professional development and growth opportunities available Essential Job Functions: --- Maintain standards of nursing while providing care under the supervision of a registered nurse --- Perform treatments and/or procedures with skill and competence --- Maintain and follow physician order for any invasive procedure and/or skill. Administer medication as per MD order and/or parental consent --- Attend Health Plan meetings and school conferences when applicable; assisting with the plan of care under the direction of a physician, registered nurse, school designee and/or parent --- Attend appropriate continuing education programs as per licensure requirements and participate in Aveanna in-servicing and training as offered --- Exhibit behavior supporting and promoting student---s rights and overall wellbeing --- Follow Aveanna and school board policies and procedures that affect the health, safety, and wellbeing of students in the school health setting --- Report any changes in the student---s mental, physical, or environmental condition (including any incidents) to the physician, nursing supervisor, school designee and parent as applicable --- Recognize and report signs of substance abuse, physical abuse or neglect --- Provide a clean and safe environment within the school, including the safe use of equipment. Maintain a neat and orderly workspace --- Identify appropriate methods for storage of equipment, supplies, and medications --- Provide individual teaching and training with student and/or others in an effort to encourage and promote student independence when applicable --- Collaborate, coordinate and supervise services with others in order to promote academics and individualized student needs --- Accurately document services provided in accordance with agency policies and procedures on the day the services are rendered --- Submit nursing documentation, logs, reports and timesheets according to company guidelines Requirements: --- Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing --- Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice --- Current CPR certification --- Current Basic Life Support certification --- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures Additional state specific requirements: --- Continuing Education as required by state Other Skills/Abilities: --- Attention to detail --- Time Management --- Leadership skills --- Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution --- Good organization and communication skills Physical Requirements: --- Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English --- Must be able to travel --- Must be able to lift 50 pounds --- Must be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance --- Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting --- Must be able to sit and climb stairs --- Must have visual and hearing acuity --- Must have strong sense of smell and touch --- Must be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance --- Must be able to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport Environment: --- Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions --- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases Other Duties: --- Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
