Posting Summary The newly launched Rutgers Center for
NeuroMetabolism ( CNM ), in collaboration with the Child Health
Institute of New Jersey ( CHINJ ), the Department of Neuroscience
and Cell Biology ( NCB ), and the Rutgers Brain Health Institute (
BHI ), are seeking to recruit an open rank, tenure-track/tenured
faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full
Professor. Located within the transformative Rutgers Helix complex,
the CNM is poised to lead groundbreaking research at the
intersection of neuroscience and metabolism, focusing on disorders
such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, eating disorders, and related
inflammatory, vascular, or gastrointestinal diseases. The CNM aims
to build a world-class research program within one of the nation’s
leading academic medical centers. We seek dynamic researchers to

Health Institute of New Jersey ( CHINJ ) is a state-of-the-art
research institute with over a dozen research laboratories with
more than 80 faculty, fellows, students, and technicians. CHINJ is
located on the Rutgers University—New Brunswick campus and includes
40,000 square feet of state-of-the-art laboratories and office
space as well as sophisticated facilities for modeling pediatric
diseases. CHINJ is part of the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical
School ( RWJMS ). We seek researchers with expertise in
neurometabolism with a focus on mechanisms underlying metabolic,
neurological, and psychiatric disorders, as well as their
translational potential for clinical therapies. The ideal candidate
will bring innovative perspectives to a collaborative environment,
leveraging Rutgers’ resources to drive discoveries from bench to
bedside.Tenure-track appointments will be made through appropriate
departments (e.g. Neuroscience and Cell Biology, Pediatrics,
Medicine and Psychiatry) at RWJMS , with full access to graduate
training programs and research resources. Successful candidates
will be provided with excellent start-up packages and will be
expected to develop and maintain strong, externally funded research
programs, and participate in collaborative projects with other

cultures. Successful faculty candidates will be expected to perform
the following duties: Develop and maintain a nationally and
internationally recognized research program supported by external
grant funding, leveraging cutting-edge, interdisciplinary, and
translational approaches. Foster collaborations with faculty in the
CNM , the CHINJ , the Departments of Neuroscience and Cell Biology,
Pediatrics and Psychiatry, the Brain Health Institute of New
Jersey, and the broader Rutgers Health and Rutgers University
community Engage in mentorship and teaching by participating in
Rutgers graduate and medical student training programs. Contribute
to the academic community through: Participation in seminars and
faculty meetings; Mentoring opportunities for trainees and junior
faculty; Involvement in institute-wide community activities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Understands and adheres to
Rutgers compliance standards as they appear in the Rutgers
Corporate Compliance Policy and Code of Conduct and Conflict of
Interest Policy. Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and
Rutgers regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and
as they change or are modified as outlined in Rutgers compliance
policies. Ensures that all staff are trained and evaluated on their
knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures
specific to their jobs. Outstanding human relations and leadership
skills and the ability to function in a team environment are
required. Knowledge of how to accomplish superior performance in a
