Job Description:
Interstate Waste Services, a leader in non-hazardous waste
management in the U.S. Northeast region, is seeking a dedicated
Waste Collection Roll-Off Driver to join our transportation and
logistics team. This position involves the regular operation of
heavy vehicles for the collection and transport of waste containers
between various facilities, customer sites, and disposal locations.
The ideal candidate will be committed to safety, customer service,
and compliance with regulatory responsibilities. As a
representative of Interstate Waste Services on the roads and at
customer premises, professionalism and courtesy are essential at
all times. Operate roll-off trucks and equipment with a focus on
safety and efficiency. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle
inspections as required and report any safety issues on standard
reports. Follow route assignments as directed and complete
end-of-day documentation and check-out process. Handle
documentation, such as manifests or orders, ensuring accuracy and
security. Attend and participate in safety meetings and training
programs. Work closely with dispatch and customer service to
improve route efficiencies and identify best practices. Discuss
service incongruencies or equipment issues with management to
rectify any problems. Maintain the cleanliness and operational
capability of assigned vehicle systems. Safe operation of large
vehicles and familiarity with roll-off operations. Ability to
navigate various routes/maps and respond to customer requests and
management directions. Effective communication skills, both verbal
and written. Capability to complete required reports and
collaborate with other team members. Physical fitness to meet job
demands including lifting, pushing, or pulling required materials.
