About The Department The Rare Disease organization leads all US
Commercial efforts for Novo Nordisk’s Rare Disease portfolio. The
Rare Disease portfolio includes medical treatments, customer
solutions, and devices across multiple Therapy Areas including Rare
Bleeding Disorders, Rare Endocrine Disorders, Rare Renal Disorders,
and Hemoglobinopathies (Sickle Cell Disease & Beta Thalassemia), as
well as new products in the pipeline. The Rare Disease organization
is responsible for leading the enterprise approach to achieving our
patient care goals and financial objectives, devising and
delivering transformative patient and customer experiences,
addressing unmet needs across the communities we serve, and setting
the industry standard for extraordinary execution. The team members
collaborate and partner cross-functionally with multiple functions
and groups throughout the US organization, Clinical development,
Research & Early Development, other affiliates, and the Global HQ

This role leads the Customer Engagement and Integrated Solutions
team and will be instrumental in shaping and executing our customer
engagement strategic direction and initiatives relative to
congresses, speaker programs as well as market development. This
role is responsible for developing and implementing effective
congress and speaker program strategies and plans to elevate our
engagement, corporate presence and leadership. This is to maximize
customer experience and drive brand and portfolio performance in a
competitive market across Rare Bleeding and Rare Endocrine with
both HCPs and patient channels. In addition, this role will support
the transformation of market development across rare bleeding
specifically Mim8 and Alhemo. They will establish and build
capabilities that will progress our Novo Nordisk thought leadership
in Rare Bleeding and Rare Endocrine and ensure intentional
partnerships are established advancing our collaborations with
KOLs. In addition, this role will also be responsible for driving
customer impact by overseeing 5D efforts including Data,
Diagnostics, Drug, Device, and Digital strategy and execution for
relevant TAs, aligned closely with Rare Disease overarching
business objectives. The role is accountable for overseeing the
development of the go-to-market plan for the launch of a
customer-centric strategy and initiatives that will enable
awareness, early diagnosis, differentiation and ultimately the
uptake and adoption of assets within respective TAs. He/she also
oversees how the 5D strategy integrates with disease education
efforts as well as cross-functional collaboration within the
business and with external partners, enabling strong, collaborative
working relationships. The role requires strategic thinking and
leadership while modeling an enterprise mindset embracing
innovation. This role will also help shape strategy and culture
within the organization. Relationships Reports to Rare Disease
Commercial Strategy and Marketing Head and is key contributor to
the Rare Disease Commercial Strategy and Marketing Leadership team.
Responsible for providing interface with key internal and external
stakeholders. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including
Marketing, Strategic Partnership and Engagement, Medical Affairs,
Market Access and Public Affairs (MAPA), Field Sales, Commercial
Excellence, Regulatory Affairs, Integrated Customer Engagement,
Global and other relevant NNI departments to ensure a cohesive
enterprise approach. They will partner closely with the Rare
Bleeding and Rare Endocrine TA Leads. External relationships
include key therapeutic area opinion leaders, and organizations as
well as professional service vendors. This role will oversee the
portfolio strategy team with members focused on congresses, speaker
programs, KOLs, market development and 5D. Essential Functions
Strategy, Planning, Performance and Tracking Elevate Portfolio
congress, speaker program and market development strategy, plans
and execution aligning with overall company objectives, maximizing
potential of inline and pipeline assets and ensuring alignment
between marketing, medical and market access Oversee development
and implementation of data, diagnostics, drug, device, and
precision health focused strategy and execution for relevant TAs
that aligns with Rare Disease business objectives and goals across
therapeutic areas Ensure alignment of 5D pre-launch and launch
strategy with cross-functional stakeholders and marketing
leadership Provides oversight to ensure development of innovative
and compelling market shaping plans that are rooted in deep
customer insights that will drive asset and corporate leadership.
Ensure strong vision and customer experience for Rare Disease
speaker programs, identifying targeted outcomes and crafting
tailored experiences Lead team to establish unmet needs, remove
barriers to brand uptake, drives differentiation and performance
for launch and inline assets. Ensures flawless execution of plans
addressing market and customer needs. Define key performance
metrics and establish mechanisms for tracking and reporting on the
effectiveness of initiatives and ensure budget targets are met
Develop and present compelling insight driven strategy and plans
for management endorsement Work with Field Sales and SP&E to
ensure programs are developed that strongly support the direct and
indirect needs of customers Drives holistic cross-functional
alignment to ensure effective and seamless implementation of
customer-centric approaches, and experiences, fostering a cohesive
and impactful engagement approach. Builds and maintains trusting,
collaborative relationships and alliances with others inside and
outside of the organization. Continuously monitor and enhance
customer satisfaction by analyzing relevant metrics and feedback,
driving improvements to elevate the overall customer experience,
corporate reputation as well leading indicators for pipeline and
inline assets. Accountable for the ongoing management and oversight
of allocated budget from local and central funding. Maximize
revenue and profitability and understands return on investment
(ROI) concepts to ensure optimization of marketing spend. Foster
seamless collaboration with internal stakeholders to proactively
identify synergies and harmonize efforts and overall corporate
approach for maximum impact Emerging Technologies and Data
Integration Stays current with 5D innovation and competitive
landscape and evaluates/identifies opportunities for business
development opportunities Identify and establish strategic
partnerships with start-ups, technology companies, and other
external partners across diagnostics, medical devices, digital
health, digital therapeutics, and data analytics to execute
effectively and efficiently on innovative health ideas and gain
access to cutting-edge solutions Evaluate and recommend
technologies that can enhance customer engagement, brand
positioning, and overall commercial success based on the latest
innovations and emerging technologies, including diagnostics, data,
digital health solutions, medical devices, and precision health
Global Partnership Influence and align global teams to ensure that
US market needs and critical success criteria are incorporated into
global congress and 5D plans Oversee strategic initiatives
supporting LAP (Launch Activity Plan) relevant to 5D, market
development, congress and speaker programs Team Leadership and
Excellence Fosters a culture of accountability, innovation, and
continuous improvement Responsible for building a high-performing
team, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure individual and
team success Responsible for the development and coaching and end
to end management of the team Responsible for setting and
communicating clear individualized role expectations for each
report based on position, skills, talents, and objectives Ensure
reporting personnel have strengths-based development plans (IDP),
with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the
priorities of the business Establishes, oversees implementation,
and monitors adherence to administrative policies and procedures.

Requirements 40-50% overnight travel required Development of People
Supervisory Qualifications Requires a Bachelor’s degree; Master’s
degree preferred A minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant
marketing, new product and sales, product management experience,
demonstrating a steady career progression with increasing roles of
responsibility within the pharmaceutical industry At least two (2)
years of people leadership experience preferred, with a proven
track record of development and coaching Minimum two (2) years of
experience strongly preferred in dedicated
digital/diagnostic/device with a global healthcare company In-depth
knowledge of the diagnostics, device and digital market and
solutions, including technological trends, regulatory landscape,
and competitive dynamics Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical
industry, including regulations, market dynamics, and trends,
especially within TA preferred Deep experience and impact with
pre-launch market disruption and though leader engagement and
activation Proven success in developing strategy through expert
understanding of market and industry Excellent communication and
stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence and
collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability
to translate insights into 5D strategies and execute in alignment
with business objectives and market needs. Proven track record of
innovative market shaping accomplishments/high impact results
(based on metrics/ROI) Ability to manage complexity including
working across competing priorities Strong strategic thinking and
analytical skills, with the ability to translate insights into
actionable marketing strategies to guide customer experiences
Experience with management of outside agencies Excellent leadership
